Panasonic

Senior Pansonic executives who were in Australia yesterday for the launch of a new range of plasma TVs including a new 54" 1" thick wireless TV have said that Pansonic is currently researching HD OLED TV and that the Japanese Company will have an OLED TV within 18 months to 2 years.

Panasonic informs that it is researching new HD OLED TV technology along with Toshiba that can increase the life span of screen to 50000 hours in 18 to 24 months time. Click to know how it plans to do it?

At the CES Show in January, Panasonic executives said that one of the main reasons that they had not talked about an OLED TV offering was because the company was not happy with the lifespan of current OLED TV's being sold by Sony and that they were confident that Panasonic engineers, including several who had joined the company from Pioneer, would be able to deliver new technology that expanded the life of an OLED screen from 30,000 hours to 50,000 hours.
achieve this by using a new metal membrane inside a prototype 20.8-inch panel to move light more efficiently.

Currently Panasonic are achieving over 60,000 hours life with their plasma offerings.

The first of the Panasonic Toshiba OLED TV's are tipped to be a 37" 1" thick panel which will be produced at Panasonic's new IPS Alpha factory.

Toshiba has also confirmed that they are working on OLED technology in partnership with Panasonic.

Horizons of the display technologies

There is a lot of craze among the people for the new audio-visual devices which can give them better viewing and listening experience. The technological leaps have been small and gradual, but very fast paced. This has led to change in the technological horizons of the display devices. Companies like Sony and others have been at the forefront of bringing these changes to the homes and office of the people.

If it were not for the light emitting diodes, the LED TV would be same as the LCD TV. The latter makes use of the liquid crystal display technology for displaying the images and videos on the screen whereas the former makes use of the light emitting diodes for the backlighting purposes. The LED TV is considered to be technologically superior to the LCD TV and capable of giving a far better viewing experience. Both of them are more practical innovations to the older cathode ray tube based bulky TVs.

Some of the main features of these new age TVs are:

1.These are more practical in the sense that these can packed easily and can be fixed on the walls. This might seem to be a bit unnoticeable point but has great utility in areas of limited space. This is possible due to the sleek and slim designs of these TVs. The old CRT TV was quite bulky, had more depth which limited its placement on some cabinet. This also caused hindrances to the movement of people.
2.These LCD and LED TVs from reputed companies like Sony and others support the high definition features of the images and videos. This means that if the videos have been shot and recorded with cameras having more than 2 MP resolution levels, then these can be seen on these TVs with good deal of clarity.

The LED technology is considered to be a shred better than the LCD TV technology mainly due to better contrast ratios and wider viewing angles. The backlighting in the LED gets switch off in the darker or black regions of the image which improves the contrast ratios. Further, if you view the screen from some angle from the centre of the TV, the viewing is better in case of the LED TV.

The improvement in the display technology has resulted in the making of these TV sets. The LED TVs are very costly and this is the reason for their limited entry into the drawing rooms of the people. The OLED TV, a further improvement over the LED TV does not require even the backlighting. It makes use of the Organic light emitting diodes for this purpose.

The researchers at top companies of the world, like Sony are always working on newer technologies to further improve the display technologies and devices. This improvement is now sought to be introduced in the SED technology. This is believed to hold a lot of promise for the future since it combines the best of the old and the new technologies.

From CRT TV to LED TV

There is always a debate on whether the new products are better than the older ones. Since the technology had advanced, there is definitely more to argue in favour of this argument, than against it. This debate has been ranging for all times and for all the things that are new. The people who are averse to change, at least till the point that the new things become very common and the old ones are near to be discarded, will habitually compare the new with the old. One such comparison has been that of the display devices like the TV.

TV technology has undergone considerable change. This has made a considerable impact on the size, design and the shape of the TVs, not to speak of its numerous new features and functions. The movement of the TV technology from the CRT to the tube-less LCD TV has been quite a long one, considering the pace of the subsequent technology changes. From CRT to LCD, the TVs have become slimmer, thinner, flatter and easy to carry. Not that the CRT ones have been thrown into oblivion but only that their sales have been taken over by the LCD TV sales a few years back. This obviously means that people are fast changing the track and coming on the new, supposedly better display technology. Since the CRT TV does not have depth and can be really slim, it means that these are more practical to be used, attached to the walls, kept on the cabinets and even made into the home theatres.

The LED TV is a further improvement of the technology. From LCD to the LED, the change brought about by the change in the backlighting device gives the users a better viewing experience. The contrast ratios are better, the display screens become wider, the TVs become even thinner, viewing from greater side angles is possible and there is some improvement in the power consumption also. Despite these advantages these have not been able to beat the LCDs because, being a new technology, the LEDs are prohibitively costlier for common people. Further, the LED TV generally come in wider screens, much bigger in size than the normal LCD TVs. This also limits their practical, daily use.

Companies like Sony are devising ways and means to bring down the costs of the LED TVs. The companies at the forefront of the technological research in the consumer electronics always keep in mind the practicality and the utility of the new devices which are developed by them. The companies continuously keep bringing in better innovations and the pace of these innovations is so high that the moment one technology is seen and understood by the common man, the new one comes up to replace it. This is quite evident that while the LCD TV has taken over the CRT TV in global sales volume now, the LED is yet to establish itself completely in the home and offices of the people, the new technology SED TV is knocking on the doors. There are many parallel running technological changes as well, like the plasma TV, OLED TV and others, from which the users can make a choice.

Samsung OLED TV To Samsung Galaxy Tab

OLED, or organic light emitting diode, is a new technology used for making of the screen displays. There is nothing natural about these displays as their names can suggest, but these are made of organic compounds. In fact, it refers to a thin film made of the organic compounds which acts a semiconductor in the displays. This film is situated in between the two electrodes which lights up when the electric current is passed between the electrodes. For Samsung OLED TV or the other TVs using this technology, one of the electrodes could be transparent.

The Samsung Led TV and other display devices which make use of the OLED TV do not use the backlight. One of their typical features is that these emit less light per unit area than the LED light source. Samsung OLED TV is therefore capable of providing better deep black levels. In dark rooms, these produce better display contrast ratios than the LCDs or LEDs. These display screens find varied uses in the computer monitors, television screens, mobile phones and many other devices.

Some of the main advantages which are provided by this technology are:

1.The future OLEDs are expected to be low in cost. These can be printed on any substrate by inkjet or screen printing methods but its fabrication is quite expensive. This makes these a little costly. The prices will be cut down if scalability of operations is achieved in these devices.

2.Light weight and flexible: The fact that the OLED displays can be fabricated on flexible plastic based substrates means that these can be used as roll over displays in fabrics.

3.Samsung OLED TV comes with the advantages of wider viewing angles as compared to LCDs. This is so because these do not use any single point source for backlights. Rather, it is the OLED pixels which directly emit the lights. Its pixel colours remain correct and do not appear to be shifting even if the viewing angle in 90 degrees from the normal.

4.Save power: These perform much better than the LCDs on the power front.

While these are technologically said to be better and also provide better lighting displays, the lifespan is lower than LCD or LED devices. When these find application in mobile phones and are used to display white areas like the websites or the documents, then these consume three times more power than the normal.

The OLED displays can be based on either the passive-matrix OLEDs or active matrix OLEDs (AMOLEDs). The latest gadgets from the Samsung, the Samsung Galaxy and the Samsung Galaxy Tab slates, make use of the AMOLED display technology. They have developed a trademark Super AMOLED for their smartphones as well as tablets. The latest Super AMOLED Plus technology is a further improvement over the Super AMOLED one with thinner films, lesser power consumption and other benefits. With further research and technological refinement it is possible for the consumer electronic giants to make better OLED displays in future with varied uses.

Samsung Galaxy

15% Return Rate For Samsung Galaxy Tab Claims New Research
According to tech analyst firm ITG, 15% of consumers who've purchased the Samsung Galaxy Tab from a U.S. carrier have returned it.
The picture regarding sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab has gotten muddier. First the company crowed about sales of one million, then two million tablets. Then, speaking to press, a Disturbing new research has emerged that claims that up to 15% of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab have been returned with consumers claiming that they are "not happy". No specific reason has been given by the research Company as to why consumers are returning the Android device which according to Samsung Australia executives was in limited supply in Australia due to strong demand.

It's expected that Samsung will update their current model 7" Galaxy Tab to the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system in Australia within the next few months.Another reason being speculated according to InformationWeek is that Motorola announced its Xoom tablet in early January at the CES trade show, giving Tab owners another Android tablet option -- one that will support 4G, one that will have a bigger screen, one that has dual-core processors, and one that supports Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

Commercial Business Phone System

If you are running a small business or want to set up one, you would invariably be requiring the modern small business phone systems. A proper communication system is left out from the scheme till the fag end when its absence begins to create the operational and cost control problems. This is the case with most of the small businesses that often tend to ignore the requirements of a suitable telephonic communication system. It is advisable that the business phone system shall be in place well in advance so that the problems are never encountered.

There are four main types of commercial phone systems small business from which you would be required to make a choice. These are:

1.Key systems: These are the systems which are mostly used if you have less number of employees, say less 20 or 30. These phones have a centralized unit which allows for extension calling within the organization and also preventing the others from accidentally listening to the line that is being used.

2.PBX systems: These are the more advanced systems phone systems small business having a good number of employees, say more than 50. These provide a number of advanced but standard features. These can be programmed as per the requirements of the people.

These days there is no big difference between the PBX and the key system since even the latter are now coming with some features which were earlier present in the PBX systems.

There are many variants of the modern day PBX systems as well. You have the hosted and the IP based PBX phones. Hosted PBX systems are not installed in your premises, thus obviating the need for you to maintain them. The IP based PBX systems use the voice over internet protocol for telephonic communication instead of the regular PSTN lines.

3.KSU-less phones: These find most use as small business phone systems for commercial use. In these there is no KSU or the centralized control unit. These are not permanently wired in your premises. You can remove them at will and move them from one place to the other.

4.VOIP phone systems: These are the phones which are a hot favorite of the organizations in the current times. These are essentially a means of communicating via the internet. Voice travels on the internet wires as packets of data. These phones allow the organizations to cut down on their running telephone bills, especially while calling to the foreign countries. There are essentially computer- or mobile- downloadable software programs. These come with functions like free PC-to-PC calls, video calling, conferencing, call diverting, auto-attendant and many others. These allow better call management and enable organizations to provide good customer service.

While looking for the right systems, you are required to ascertain your precise needs first. You shall even consider the option of going for refurbished Panasonic phone systems rather than buying the new ones. Ideally, a little advanced system shall be taken which will cover the anticipated needs of the future as well.
